Quartier Centre – ads

The Downtown of Rouyn-Noranda includes many stores of all kind. I took part during the summer of 2020 in the making of four short ads, each showing three of these stores, in order to promote the diversity and quality of this Québec city.

The original goal was to make six short ads, each showing two stores. Thus, we selected twelve stores, as various as possible : resaturation, clothes, scenes, informatics, sports...
The shooting was spread across seven consecutive days. Each day concerned two or three shooting locations (considering some stores actually necessited to shoot in several disctincts locations, for exemple a brewery for which we chose to show the store as well as the workshop), and the duration of each locations varied between three and six hours.
As soon as this intensive week ended, I started looking into the editing. After some trials, we ended up agreeing that three stores per video would be more relevant, for it would make the concept more clear to the audience, and show the diversity we were to display all the better. Once it was decided, the editing was quite fast, and we then could release the ads, one by one with a few months between each, in order to reinforce the message for the audience.
